I attended the most recent Worcester EPC mtg in November and have attached a circular for present and former employees of the listed companies during the time frames indicated to receive benefits for their health-related issues concomitant to their jobs.
I also learned that the elevator shafts in our older commercial, residential and institutional buildings have become cesspools of hazard materials that are ambient and need to be cleaned up. The human health factor wasn't addressed at this meeting, oddly enough, but clearly it is a factor (risk) that most property owners of these buildings would like to see transferred to the government before they have to pay through their insurance for something they had no way of knowing about? Would like to see more public gatherings @ HC Campus Ctr., WPL, AC, CU, WPI to share the news about what is happening in other communities that We the People are doing to help each other to create a necessary Shift for whom decisions and resources are being expended in this community to benefit because it certainly isn't benefiting or improving the quality of the commonweal's experiences.
With a 9.3% unemployment rate among City residents, the City pension system (as too many other municipalities' around the nation because of the Real Estate bust of 2006 and consequent Financial Recession of 2007, the funds lost trillions to the wild imaginings (nothing innovative about stealing governments and people's hard-earned money) with trading CDOs & CDS that were worth absolutely nothing.
Economies need people earning and spending money to thrive/sustain themselves.
We are headed in a very dangerous direction in this City when more money is being spent on law enforcement, residential and commercial construction and we can borrow at attractive IRs because of our AA+ rating but the City's coffers will begin to dry up and then what? Another Detroit in the making?
And then what?
